Foremast Ltd. - About Us

Foremast Marine and Shipboard Training

Foremast aims to provide quality programmes for the Marine, Offshore and Petrochemical industry to facilitate the highest standards of training within the Caribbean and South America.

Foremast recognizes that there is a shortage of qualified Marine officers and facilitates the opportunities for persons to become certified to operate safely, competently and efficiently within the Marine, offshore and Petrochemical Industry.

Foremost Marine and Shipboard Training Company (FOREMAST) has been established to provide training and crewing programmes for the Regional Marine Industry.

The training programmes focus on courses on Oil, Chemical and Liquefied Gas Tanker operations as well as the transport of dangerous goods by sea.

Additional courses are available to meet the safety needs of the Marine, Offshore and Petrochemical industry and to provide mandatory standards training certification & Watch keeping (S.T.C.W.95) accreditation.

Most of our training programmes are facilitated by commonwealth consultants and all courses are recognized by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) and the United Kingdom Department of Transport.

Quality Officers and Crew

To ensure that the highest standards of Best Practice are followed, we have an in house mentoring programme which goes the extra mile with experienced participants who are onboard the vessels to impart their knowledge to younger crew.

Assessment

Written assessment programmes in line with the International Shipping Federation (ISF) for all individual ranks are carried out by the training and presiding senior officers. This ensures that best practices are properly followed by trainees and a record of their activities is available for continuous review.

Certification

All training programmes facilitated by Foremast have accredited and recognized certifying bodies. These bodies are the leading certifying agencies in the specific sector of the Maritime Industry.

Drug and Alcohol Policy

There is a zero tolerance policy with random testing of crewmembers before and during their trip onboard.
